What is greenwashing?

Greenwashing happens when businesses present products, services, or practices as greener than they really are. This could involve overstating environmental benefits or leaving out key information, creating confusion and eroding trust.

As awareness of environmental issues grows, so does the importance of honesty. Clear, truthful claims don’t just protect consumers—they also strengthen reputations and drive real change.

What is the Greenwash Scorecard?

The Greenwash Scorecard is designed to help businesses and consumers navigate the complexities of environmental claims. Currently, the tool provides a self-assessment score out of 100, aligned with the principles of the Green Claims Code.

While still under development, our aim is to offer practical guidance to identify areas for improvement. Your feedback will be vital in shaping the tool into a trusted resource for promoting transparency and confidence in environmental messaging.
